[CMoore.com] Kiss that meme goodbye
Time to put “fail” in the “dude, where’s my car?” pile.
When Ben Bernanke and Henry Paulson testified before the Senate banking committee last month about Paulson’s proposed bailout bill, a demonstrator in the audience held up an 8.5-by-11 piece of paper with one word scrawled on it in block letters: “FAIL.” Earlier in September, Sarah Palin’s interview with Charlie Gibson was dubbed by some bloggers an “epic fail.” Grist magazine invoked the phrase when John McCain told a Maine TV reporter that Sarah Palin “knows more about energy than probably anyone else in the United States.” And just last week on the Atlantic’s Web site, Ta-Nehisi Coates found the theory that Bill Ayers ghost-wrote Barack Obama’s memoir so “desperate” he called it an “Epic Fail.”

[CMoore.com] Disappointed by America yet again
HGTV’s next design star has approximately 1/10th the talent and 1/100th the design skills. Even if the methodology wasn’t screwed up (texting A or B is a blow to the person with B), even if Jen has nothing but matching the demographic of the watchers, I thought the obvious talent disparity on this, the worst of the Design Star seasons was such that the better designer would win.
Oh well.
Matt, you got jobbed.

[CMoore.com] Jessica Simpson Epic Fail
So the never-had-talent tries to reinvent herself as a country star. It did not go well.
Audiences booed and clapped as the singer, 28, opened for Sara Evans on Saturday at the Country Thunder USA festival in Randall, Wisconsin.
“I don’t know what your perception is of Jessica Simpson or what tabloid you buy, but I just want you to know that I’m just a girl from Texas,” Simpson told the crowd. “I’m just like you. I’m doing what I love and dating a boy.“
J. Simp, honey, it’s not the singing they were booing. You have to know your audience, and cowboys like to keep that shit on the downlow, know what I’m sayin?
